Afterwork paddle from Gambo Dam Launch in Windham

Start the first summer workweek off right with an afterwork paddle from Gambo Dam. We will paddle up the Presumpscot River to the covered bridge and explore the lower Pleasant River on the way back. Potential to see plenty of wildlife in this area. Find the launch at the end of Gambo Rd. Gambo Rd is a left off River Rd 1/2 mile north of Rt 202. The road ends about .4 mile at a footbridge. Park anywhere along the side of the street, or at the nearby Windham Soccer Fields/Mountain Division Trail Access point. We will need to walk across the footbridge and launch on the Gorham side of the river. One of our favorite paddle locations!

I had a great time! It was well organized, we were out way before dark. The river was calm, the air was warm--what a wonderful way to end a Monday! I brought a "rookie" and Bill went out of his way to check on him. Had a great conversation about kayaks, too!

    Bill,
Am going to try hard to make this if I can leave work a little early. I bought a kayak last week!

Those are pretty nice! We got 2 of them for rentals this year. I think you're really going to like it!

Can I rent a kayak and equipment? I like an 11' with good tracking. Mine is in storage, and I don't have a truck now. Thanks!

Sure. I'm thinking an LLBean Calypso. It's actually 12' but it is lightweight and tracks well. It is considered a light touring kayak.

Being retired any hour is after work. We have a good time with the folks we have met!

Hi, I would like to rent a kayak for the Gambo Dan paddle. I prefer a sit above style if you have it. Thanks

Great, I will also have a guest who will have her own kayak. Not sure how to change the RSVP.

At the top of the blue bar to the right where it lists everyone coming, at the top there is a green box that says "Your RSVP: YES". right below that is the word "change". Click on that and you can add a plus one!

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
