Top Tips and Tricks for Developing  Windows 8 Apps - Free Food & Prizes

Our February 12th event is now sponsored  by Microsoft

Celebrate the launch of the new Microsoft Surface Pro Tablet!

Don't miss this meeting, even if you already have an app in the store. Not much code, but lots of Windows 8 App Development & UI best practices that will put you ahead and 'in the know'.

There are 3 key features that you can be focusing on now to make your app better. In this meeting local experts, that have done it before, share with you their insider information and tips about what makes for a great Windows 8 app and how can you save time in the development process...

Giveaways & Swag

As always, we will give away $5,000 in Windows 8 developer tools software licenses, books, sponsor SWAG and other great prizes.

Plugging into Windows 8

Jeffrey Harmon - Creator of Memorylage Windows 8 Store App

"Plugging Into Windows 8", which would go through concrete examples of implementing many of the new Windows 8 features within your app (sharing, appbar, live tiles, etc.).  I will use Memorylage as an example, so you can see how they are implemented within an actual app, and not just in the context of a sample.  I can also show off my new popup control (which will hopefully have a blog post about it by then), which is a Modern-UI version of MessageBox.Show().

Memorylage is a beautiful new way to view your photos in Windows 8. You can also create custom collages from your favorite photos, or from new ones that you take with the Photo Booth feature.
