November meeting of the Chicago GNU/Linux User Group

The Chicago GNU/Linux User Group is meeting on Saturday, November 16th at 2:30pm. We'll be meeting at Pumping Station: One:

As for our scheduled talk, Erik Johnson will use some of our new Rackspace resources to show us how we can use SaltStack on CentOS to validate and change configurations and install software across Ubuntu, OpenSUSE, and FreeBSD servers. Erik works for SaltStack as a Python Engineer, and is the organizer of the Fox Valley LUG in Aurora.

We'll use the remainder of our time to work on a few improvements to the ChicagoLUG website.

this is a topic close to my heart. I am developing a toolkit to do similar admin work from a central management node. Puppet is also a major utility in automated server administration. I look forward to this discussion.
