Hi Diana - Welcome to the group! Jazz does it to me, too!
Hi Diana, I have thought a lot about you. I haven't been on my internet for awhile either. I'm so sorry to hear that this is taking so long for you. I'd imagine more court means more lawyer fees. My youngest graduated high school on Saturday. I went to the lawyer yesterday and am getting the ball rolling. This is just so shocking and stunning to me but it is happening and we are proceeding with divorce. I would love to talk more with you.How can we get each other's phone #s ?
hi....can we connect....
Hi Diana, I didn't make the meeting. He moved out that morning. My son had my car and I was left without a ride. My son had a great time at prom - his dad & I both went to the picture taking and a parents reception at one of his friends house. He drove me home afterwards, he of course went out drinking. He woke up bright and early and packed his stuff in plastic bags and left. He refused to give me the house key, but he gave me my car key. I called in sick yesterday and had the locks changed.
I too am a child of an alcoholic father. He stopped drinking when I was a teenager and never drank again. My dad is a wonderful man. And I guess the old cliche' is true, girls marry their father. My husband was sober for 17 years of our marriage. The last 7 have been him drinking off and on. At the moment he is at an "on" phase. No I DO NOT HAVE A LAWYER. Any suggestions ? I do realize we can get settled once he moves out which he said should be this Sunday.
Had a ROUGH ROUGH night. He went out drinking-SURPRISE SURPRISE. Wakes up our youngest telling him, this is his fault-not mom's, he loves me he just thinks there's more to life than what we are doing. HOW DO YOU THINK A KID FEELS HEARING THAT !! Barely functioning today.
you have a grandchild ?! WOW, you look wonderful. I hope you feel wonderful also. You are so right that I deserved a lot of things - 1st and foremost HONESTY ! My "soon to be ex" as I will refer to him as, struggles with alcoholism. He is chooses to get drunk instead of his kids. I don't even care about me and him anymore. Now it's just about moving forward and being the best I can be. You have been so helpful, you have no idea. THANK YOU SO MUCH DIANA !
Diana, will you be at the meeting this Sunday ? I'd love to sit with you since you are the only one I have really spoken to.
I did not realize that you had asked me a question about the upcoming meetup. Sorry, I did not reply back. This is one event I will not attend since I don't have the $$. I believe it is taking place at 147 W. Kenzie Street on December 18 but please double check the F & C Culture front page. Hope you have fun and have a great time!
