  • No location was chosen

  • Learn Freestyle Slalom from one of the pros! This is a unique opportunity.

Dennis Palmer is one of the top US Freestyle skaters and part of Naomi Grigg's SkateFreestyle team. He has been a skater since 1992 and is a SkateIA certified teacher. He has competed in slalom competitions worldwide and is dedicated to advancing the sport and teaching skaters in the U.S.

This workshop will include two full days of instructions. It is open to every skill level from never skated slalom before to the ones who already master multiple tricks. Basic skating skills are required.

    Cost: $125

Location: Our usual freestyle spot at Belmont Harbor. In case it rains, underpass south of Soldier Field. Participants will receive details prior to the event

What you will learn: You will leave with several new slalom moves and better balance and agility on your skates. Warning: You will likely start carrying a set of cones whenever you go skating.

We have also included a warm-up session each day where you will learn stretches to improve flexibility and posture alignment with a focus on those muscle groups  used in skating. This part of the session will be lead by me (Kirsten). I am an ACE (American Council on Exercise) Certified Personal Trainer and Posture Alignment Specialist certified by Egoscue University. I will tell you some of my secrets to deal with these aching muscles we sometimes get from skating :).

Hey folks. Just found out my sons graduation is on the 20th. I'd like to reschedule to a different weekend. I'll post again in the next day or two with dates that work.

We are planning to do the workshop at the usual spot on Belmont. In case it rains, we will meet near Soldier Field. There is an underpass with almost no pedestrian traffic and smooth pavement. I will check out the parking lot by the LP Zoo as well as an option but as of now the above is our plan.

If you don't have a location, I suggest the Licnoln Park Zoo parking lot that is just south of the zoo. There is a overflow lot to the west right next to the monument and sculpture of USS Grant. GTood smooth surface and no through traffic.

Hi, do we have more information about the location?

I can only do the Saturday session. Is that an issue?

You have two options, pay in full but only attend one day, or pay a reduced fee of $75 but if the even fills up and someone requests a 2-day spot we would have to give precedence to that person. Or, I guess there is a third option, find someone who wants your second day and split it between the two of you.
