Strum, Strum, Strum 'till our Daddy takes our 'ukuleles awaaaaaaaaayyyyyy!

You asked for it and you got it! Another strumming opportunity here in the Napa Valley. Our wonderful friends at Umpqua Bank, here in Saint Helena (1065 Main Street), have offered us the use of their Community Room the second Thursdays of the month! So let's do it!

As usual, please RSVP if you are coming, only, or if you are switching from a "yes" to a "no." (No need to RSVP if you are NOT coming.)

As far as I know we'll do quick pupus and wine (or not).  Please bring your own wine glass.

You might also want to bring a music stand if you have one.....(if you want to buy one, let me know, I have some great ones right now in a variety of colors.)

Bring a song to share. We won't have access to a copy machine here, so check the RSVP's to see how many you need to bring. Note: if you don't RSVP you may not get a song sheet!!!! (If it looks like we'll have a small group, bring 2 or 3.......)

See you there!

I posted Hula Hana under More/Files. I did a little cut and paste so that we could see it as we planned to play it. Hope to see you all next week!

Thanks, Glenna. And I just heard from Nancy and we're on for next Thursday at 6, we just don;t know if it is in the clubhouse or at her house, yet. I'll post when I hear where it will be for sure. And the song she sang was: Take her out of Pity.

Great job everyone. I'm looking forward to hearing from Nancy regarding our next rehearsal and Glenna regarding whatever else I was supposed to tell you......Here's the link to Hula Hana.....be careful, it's a real ear worm.

Don't forget to practice...having it memorized will make all the difference in the world.

If you can tolerate a beginner, I'm looking forward to meeting you all and will do my best to strum along! :)

Just confirming that we are ON for this Thursday at Umpqua Bank. We have been invited to participate in Uke-A-Palooza at Oxbow on August 2. So, bring a song you'd like to do for the "open mic." We'll go through all the ones you bring then decide which one(s) we'd like to perform and then we will WORK ON IT! With a great intro, any solo bits, and (most important) a great finish. If we can pull it off...I'm kind of thinking "Hula Hannah" might be a real fun one to do........

We can also talk about the possibility of doing a flash mob inside Oxbow.....where we'd be the core, but would invite uke players from all over to join us.......or not.

July, already! Did we do an RSVP for June? Either way, I plan on being there. Maybe we can play outside while the weather is good.
