Ukuleles at the Tudor Rose English Tea Room in Santa Rosa!

Regardless of your level of skill or ability to carry a tune, we hope you will grab your ukes and come join us for a spot of tea, some finger sandwiches, and a jolly good time at the Tudor Rose Tea Room in Santa Rosa. (Beer and wine will also be available for purchase.) We hope to make this a monthly, if not biweekly, gathering and your presence at this inaugural event will help launch this brand new ukulele meet-up in fine fashion.

We’ll be singing tunes from the Ukulele Club of Santa Cruz Songbooks, so if you have any of those, please bring them along. If not, don’t worry, we’ll have song sheets to pass out. (Also feel free to bring a song you’d like to lead for the group with enough copies for everyone who has RSVP’d, here.) We'll also be singing songs about....tea!

We will start gathering at 5pm for those who would like to get an early start and perhaps a short beginner lesson. By 6 pm, things should be rolling. Regardless, we hope everyone who attends will show their appreciation to the Tudor Rose, for so graciously hosting us, by purchasing a beverage and/or a little something to nibble on. There will be sandwiches, pasties, cookies, and dessert available for purchase in addition to tea, lemonade, beer and wine.

How very, very British......George Formby would be pleased.

Wow! What a great turn-out! Looks as though you'll need to bring 24 copies of any tune you'd like to share....and if you don't have one to share, don't worry! I'll bring some extras.....

I'll be there and will bring my wife. We've talked about visiting the Tudor Rose for a while. So I'm a + 1.

Great....is there a tune you'd like us to play while you sing?

I don't know anything well enough. We'll enjoy the grub and the show.

Hi, I am going to be at the Tudor Rose working anyway so do not need to take up a spot on the meet-up. Making room for a WL person.

Life is just too insane for me this week. I hate to miss this, but I can't make it work. I see that there are folks waiting for a spot. Enjoy!

Hi Elaine. I also can only be there for the first part to meet people and say hello. I have a previous engagement in Santa Rosa that starts at 6pm.

Thanks for the explanation. I'll pass. Enjoy.

Ok. But you need to actually change your RSVP to "No" so the folks on the wait list can move up. Thanks!

So sorry to chime in, but I find I must leave at 6:15 for a prior commitment! Guess I'll have to wait for another time. Good luck with this new venue! It looks like such fun! Maybe I can join you another time.

No worries. Just don't forget to change your RSVP.

I'll be there for the first hour if you can squeeze me in. Looking forward to meeting you, "up on Cripple Creek…..she puts a donut in my tea…." Answers the age-old question, "What Can You Do with a Day-Old Donut??"

Hi Marilyn. Sorry, but I had to change the protocol, as a number of people wanted to just come for the first half hour or so but had to be somewhere else by 6. So, I'm just going to ask that folks who come plan stay at least until 7, though we may go a bit later.

I'm happy there are so many people who want to join us for Ukuleles at the Tudor Rose, even though they have prior commitments and need to leave early! However, since this is our first gathering in this venue and I am still experimenting with formats, I am asking that you please RSVP with a commitment to arrive between 5 and 6, enjoy a cup of tea and/or other snack or libation, and stay to make some wonderful music together.

I'm sure this gathering will evolve as we get a few meetings under our belt, and more flexibility will be an option. But for the time being, I'm hoping that everyone who RSVP's does so with a commitment to stay for the whole shebang.. Thanks for understanding, and if you can't make it this time, we'll be posting another one soon and will hope to see you there!

It's fun to see so many old and new friends signing up for this event. It looks like a great crowd......but I think we need to limit the number of people this first time out to make sure we can accommodate everyone who attends......which means we will probably end up with a wait list. Meetup handles this automatically moving people up in the order in which they signed up. So, please change your RSVP if you cannot attend so that anyone on the wait list will have an opportunity to join us. If you do end up on the wait list, just be patient.....it's more than likely a spot will open up for you before Thursday!

I had no idea there were so many great tunes about tea (besides the obvious "Tea for Two!"). I plan on learning a few and bringing them along.....we're gonna need a theme song after all! ;)
