We are excited for you to join our book club! To strive to keep our group active and engaged. If you do not attend a meeting in the first 60 days of joining, you will be removed from the group.
We are a group of energetic, fun, and intelligent people that enjoy the adventure a good book provides. We typically meet every three to four weeks in the Flower Mound, Highland Village, Lewisville, Grapevine, Carrollton area for dinner to discuss our thoughts on the chosen book. Our meetings are usually during the week and we try to alternate days to accommodate everyone's lives. We will occasionally have other social outings for active members.
Our books are chosen by our members. Here is our latest book list:
Wednesday, March 25All the Light We Cannot See: A Novel by Anthony Doerr
Thursday, April 9The Glass Castle: A Memoir by Jeannette Walls
Monday, April 27 The Light Between Oceans by M.L. Stedman
Tuesday, May 12The Nazi Officer’s Wife: How One Jewish Woman Survived The Holocaust by Edith H. Beer and Susan Dworkin
Thursday, May 28Wild: From Lost to Found on the Pacific Crest Trail by Cheryl Strayed
Tuesday, June 16 Descent: A Novel by Tim Johnston
To ensure that the group runs smoothly and is enjoyable for all members, we have included the book club guidelines below.
Book Club Guidelines:
1) No shows – Being stood up is the worst! Many times we have reservations at a restaurant and it’s disrespectful to the group and to the restaurant to no show. Also, we have gracious hosts that open their homes to our group and usually provide a full meal. One no show will get you removed from the group, no exception.
2) If you RSVP yes and need to change your RSVP, please be mindful of timing. We do not charge a membership fee and in return, we ask that you give us at least 24 hours notice. This will allow our hosts the opportunity to make last minute changes so they may enjoy hosting their book club meeting to the fullest. Treat our group as you would like to be treated.
