Now, I know what you're thinking. "I don't really like white wine." I've heard it plenty of times. I can't say that white wine is my favorite either. But keep in mind this is not the "Picky Eaters Club." We are wine explorers. If we always stick to the beaten trail, then are we really exploring? So if whites are your favorites, this will be a good meetup for you. If reds are your favorites, this will be a great meetup for you.
I got the impression that a lot of folks enjoyed tasting a few wines blind last meetup. It's fun, it's entertaining, it's interactive, and we still get to know what it is... but AFTER we taste it instead of before. We'll do this more often.
The theme for this meetup is white wines that are typically available no matter where you go. As I did for the Popular Reds meetup, I will define a list of three whites that seem most common to me: the guidelines are to stick with Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, and Riesling. Let me know if you'd like to bring something (blind or not) and we'll coordinate our shopping lists so we have a variety to drink together.
This will take place at our private residence which also houses cats (an important note to those allergic). Please text me or call me if you need the exact address [masked]). Sometimes I'm bad/slow with email so texts and calls are definitely quicker. And since I get this question a lot: everyone should feel free to bring snacks for themselves or to share, we won't hold you back. You can also comment in the event what you're bringing. This can get people excited but also help coordinate so not everyone shows up with Chocolate Monkey Bars. On second thought, it's fine in my book if everyone brings Chocolate Monkey Bars...
