Wing Chun Gung Fu in Park Slope! Wing Chun (traditional Chinese: 詠春; pinyin: yǒng chūn; literally "spring chant"), also romanized as Ving Tsun or "Wing Tsun" (and sometimes substituted with the characters 永春 "eternal springtime") is a concept-based southern Chinese martial art and form of self-defense utilizing both striking and grappling while specializing in close-range combat. Instructional emphasis will be placed on Siu Lim Tao and the development of Energy, Distance, Timing, Movement, and Structure within the 1st line theory. Siu Lim Tao is the foundation or "seed" of the art from which all succeeding forms and techniques depend. I have been studying Wing Chun since 1997. I had the honor of becoming a certified instructor in 2008.
