Q&A & Forum Session

Have you got a problem that you're not sure how to solve? Is there something you have questions about? Is there a new technology you're trying to study?

Summer is just a memory now and we'd love to have another meetup!

This is a meetup that you can drive with your own interests and gain access to knowledge within the community! So take a moment right now to add a comment to this event and let us know what you're interested in!

(If you're interested in speaking on any subjects brought up, don't hesitate to get in touch!)

Also, O'Reilly has supplied our user group with two lovely books to review.  Get in touch with me if you'd like to read one and do a quick writeup & chat about it!

Looking for PHP freelancers for occasional work; WordPress an asset but not necessary.

Another heads up everyone, updated the date to the 17th so that it's not between a holiday and the weekend.

If you can tweet about this event and raise some awareness, we can make sure nobody misses out!

Thanks for the great presentation, Alex. Also some good food for thought on the future format of events.

Hey PHPers... I'm planning on hitting up the Yellow Dog before the meetup for a beverage... I should be there right around 5pm. Come and have a beer with me!

Hey everyone! Thanks for bearing with me as I sort out scheduling. How does November 10th at 6PM sound for our next meetup?

Outside of scheduling, I also have some fun news... O'Reilly has kindly supplied us with two books to review:

    PHP Cookbook - http://shop.oreilly.com/product/0636920029335.do
    AngularJS Up & Running - http://shop.oreilly.com/product/0636920033486.do

I was wondering if two attendees might be interested in doing a quick written review of them and maybe a brief talk about what they thought during the next meetup: http://www.oreilly.com/ug/bookreviews.html

I'd say it doesn't have to be too in depth, but if we as a user group can show interest and deliver something, it might encourage O'Reilly to continue sharing resources with us.

If either of these books catch your interest, get in touch and we can see about getting one in your hands before the 10th!

Just came across some of the amazing new features of Laravel 5 today:

    https://laracasts.com/series/whats-new-in-laravel-5/episodes/

Might be something worth talking about at the next meetup, or maybe even make a separate night for it.

I'd love to see some information on how to use the data mapper pattern with Laravel. Specifically using Doctrine.

I'm available to answer any Laravel, project and architecture related questions. Respond to this comment and I'll prepare a response for the meetup!
