Monthly Meeting

This monthly meeting serves as a complement to Drinking Skeptically. While DS is informal and fun, this slightly more formal meeting allows us to plan activities more effectively.

The idea is to discuss upcoming events (like the 10:23 Campaign, our Creation Museum visit, the Sylvia Browne awareness campaign, etc.), media opportunities, get a podcast update from the LUEE team, discuss funds and volunteering, etc.

Most meetings should be fairly quick (half an hour or so), and all are welcome to attend.

Hiya, folks. We're looking at changing this meeting to the FOURTH Sunday of the month (which would bump this meeting to the 28th). Does anyone have a problem with that?

As no one responded with any problems, we're rescheduling these meetings to the FOURTH Sunday of every month. See you folks next weekend!

Right now we're planning an "End of the World" party/social for December, on the theme of the supposed "Mayan" apocalypse. We don't currently have any investigations scheduled. (We've reached out to the Paranormal Group that was profiled in the Sun, but they haven't responded.)

I experienced a bizarre brain/mind 'thing' 9 years ago that lasted a year, the symptoms/characteristics of which puts it into the categories your group is skeptic of. I'm looking to be questioned by those who might be able to come up with an alternative answer to the one I've come up with in asking the question "What on earth was that?"

If you're interested in discussing this sort of thing, I'd recommend bringing it up at Drinking Skeptically. The monthly meetings are primarily for planning events. Keep in mind that "I don't know what the explanation is" is a perfectly reasonable response.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
