Experience a night ride under an ALMOST SUPER full moon!

The ride will be 30 miles on low-traffic, paved roads at a moderate pace.

Riders should be capable of maintaining a riding pace of 12-15 MPH over the entire 30 mile ride.  We will stop to regroup and take quick breaks as needed.  Plan for a 2-1/2 hour ride, including time for breaks.

Schedule:

6:30 PM- Meet at Goodland Memorial Park in Sharon.  We will walk to a nearby restaurant for dinner.

7:49 PM - Moonrise

8:00 PM- Return to Goodland Memorial Park.  Setup our bikes, sign-in and make sure our lights are working properly.

8:30 PM - Ride!

8:36 PM - Sunset

9:11 PM - End Civil Twilight

11:00 PM - End of Ride

For safety reasons, the ride is limited to those at least 18 years of age.  Also, the ride will be canceled if it is raining or threatening to storm.  Everyone should be prepared for the cooler temperatures of the evening.

A front, white headlight visible for at least 500 feet and a rear, red taillight visible for a distance up to 600 feet, to comply with Wisconsin and Illinois laws, are mandatory to participate in this ride.

Please note in your RSVP if you are planning to join for dinner or just for the ride.

The forecast calls for rain and thunderstorms, but the radar looks OK. I'll be there for dinner. Hope the weather holds out for a dry ride!

I will be spending the day in Baraboo participating in a team training ride for the MS 150 Ride in August. Not sure if I will get back in time and drive an hour south to attend this meetup. No promises. Have fun.

This will be my first time riding with this group. I live in the Riverwest neighborhood in Milwaukee and have ridden in RW24 every year. Aways enjoy the night riding during that event.

Hi Ron, can you cross post this rude on Lake County Bicycle Groups Meetup page? We have several riders who live in McHenry county whom I think would like this ride.
