Join us for a ride through the Amish community to the northeast of Madison. Our ride will include several stops at various Amish stores and shops, including a general store, a wood shop, a buggy shop, a bent & dent and a bakery. The route is 32 miles and follows lightly-traveled, paved roads with rolling hills. Along the way, we will pass by Amish houses and farms and see buggies being pulled by horses. Riding will be at a moderate pace, but we will allow time to browse the shops along the way.
Plan to pack a lunch or bring some energy bars, since there are no restaurants along our route. We'll be able to get water and snacks in the Amish community, at either the general store or the bent & dent. Of course, we'll be able to get treats at the Amish bakery as well.
The route takes us through Glacier Hills Wind Park, where we'll get to ride past many of the Park's 90 wind turbines.
