Leadership and Conscious Capitalism

Next Wednesday morning I will be giving a 10 minute presentation in this topic so as to set the scene for a 50 minutes exchange between participants.  This event is co-organised with EFFG Geneva www.ebbf.org and one that I would like to develop/deepen and bring to life within this group in the unfolding months.

Returning to the meet-up, we are seeing increasing evidence of societal awareness as to is likely unsustainable in the world. While there are many willing and motivated problem solvers the real challenge is systemic.  Within this nebulous eco system lies the corporation - a separate legal entity, which is increasingly questioning its reason for being as an emerging “Raison Sociale”. Indeed with the critical impact that companies have in our lives and societies, we will consider what changes are occurring in making them more responsible.

Pursuant to that is the growing concept of conscious capital are conscious leaders, which in turn is virtually synonymous with the concept of authentic leadership and/or leadingship.  Indeed it seems increasingly essential for leaders to integrate their hearts with their heads by developing self-awareness and emotional intelligence, while empowering other people to do the same. As the saying goes, “The longest journey that people must take is the eighteen inches between their heads and their hearts.”

Look forward to seeing you.

Warmly

Maurice

Sorry I missed it. Hope to make the next one, as bringing consciousness to organizations is near and dear to my heart, and head!

Sorry folks, the subject is quite interesting, but I am busy writing these days well into the night and afraid tomorrow morning I will be sleeping like a log. Too early. Will try next time though. Kudos

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
