I've been really slow about announcing these extra Meetups each month. Sorry about that. Just remember. 1st Wednesday, Witches of Irishtown Meetup. As I've said ofttimes before, this is not the best Meetup for deep conversation, because it IS the best Meetup for live Irish music, hearty Irish food, strong Irish booze, a lot of laughter and fun. The wonderful Irish music (provided by none other than the legendary Peter Yeates) sort of drowns out deep conversation. But this is okay. We get our points across. No agendas, no classes, no rituals, no expectations other than to have fun and meet nice people. While it might be difficult to have a deep conversation, it is not difficult to meet great people with whom to have a deep conversation at some other time. Irishtown Pub is a great venue, and treats us very well. There is a lot of free parking, it's convenient for people in both Portland and Vancouver, the food is great and reasonably priced, and ... the Irish music there can't be beat. Please join us, we're a fun bunch of Witches, Wiccans, Asatruers, Druids, and other assorted flavours of Pagans.

So sorry, must change the location; sadly, the Guiding Tree is closing and is no longer available. Temporarily, we will be meeting at Chinese Village Restaurant, which is easily reached by car and Trimet, and which graciously provides their banquet room for our rowdy selves. They love having us there. This Meetup is meant to be a networking opportunity to meet other Pagans, Witches and Goddess worshippers. It is not a class; there is never an agenda or anything particularly structured. This doesn't mean you can't learn anything at a Meetup. Ask any question you want. There are many very experienced people who are regulars, we usually enjoy answering questions. As always, there is no charge for this Meetup, but it is a restaurant, so do be prepared to buy at least a little something to make it worth the restaurant's efforts to provide the banquet room for us.

The Harvest Moon has just passed. What did you harvest this year? As the days shorten, hearts grow warm. Samhain is just around the corner. Time to sip a hot cup and share your thoughts.

Here's your opportunity for a very inexpensive, albeit short, vacation in Ireland. Irishtown in Vancouver has World Class live Irish music, hearty Irish booze, and tasty Irish food, and it wouldn't be unusual to hear people speaking Irish there. This is a great Meetup to hear the best Irish music, laugh, sing, eat, drink, meet other Witches and other flavours of Pagan, but it's not the best Meetup for heavy deep conversations, because of all the laughing, singing and other amusements. It's a wonderful Meetup to MEET people with whom you can have heavy conversations with at some other time, though. And that's what Meetup is all about, anyway, meeting people and creating community. Irishtown is a great place for a Meetup, too. Located conveniently for the people of SW Washington, and also for the people in Portland, since it's just off I-205. There's lots of free parking right outside the door, and the management loves us and always makes sure we have a big table, or tables, right in front of the stage. If you play your cards right, I'll even introduce you to the World Class musical entertainment -- and he has an authentic Dublin accent. If you're shy, that's okay, most of us were shy when we started going to Meetups. We'll be gentle. And we're a nice, friendly bunch, even when we're not gentle. We can be nice ... and rough. (old song lyric, don't worry about it). This is a good Meetup to come to if you're shy, you won't have to talk much. It's a good place to meet local Witches and other flavours of Pagans. Hope to see you at Irishtown.

Sad news, folks. The Guiding Tree is closing. They have been generously providing space for our Meetups for the past year or so, but since they're closing, they can do so no longer. I hope they'll continue to have an online presence, but I will sure miss their wonderful store. We'll be moving this Meetup, at least temporarily, to our New "old standby" Chinese Village. Chinese Village is great to us. They provide a big banquet room just for us, the food is good, the venue is convenient for people who drive (free parking, easy to find) and for those who do Trimet (take Max to the 82nd Ave. stop and take the bus south on 82nd a few blocks). This is the regularly scheduled 4th Tuesday of the month Meetup, I just thought I'd give you some advance notice that we'll be changing the location.

September Grass Well, the sun's not so hot in the sky today And you know I can see summertime slipping on away A few more geese are gone, a few more leaves turning red But the grass is as soft as a feather in a featherbed So I'll be king and you'll be queen Our kingdom's gonna be this little patch of green. James Taylor Yes, it's that time again. Weather cooling and kiddies going back to school. Time to come and share your summer adventures with your Pagan friends.
