A look into the way of the Wounded Warrior, or Shaman. Introducing the methods and over all principles of Shamanism. The discussion will lead into an overview of Native Spirituality, with a look into the Medicine path of the Lakota Sioux. This discussion will also try to place the spirituality in context with the Native American experience and complex history and relationship with the United States.
This will be a two part session, with lecture, teachings and some practical materials in the first half. The afternoon will end, if the spirits should bless our intention, with a traditional Chanupa, or Pipe Ceremony in the Lakota manner. Kurt has been following the Native path for nearly three decades, and has been trained as a Firekeeper, Water Pourer, Pipe Carrier and Traditional Singer, in that role he supports a traditional Sun Dance every summer. He is also an accomplished sacred Bard, pursuing interfaith and intercultural sacred drum, song and chant.

There is never a charge for ceremony. A $25 fee is requested per workshop to pay for room rental and expenses.

Polyrhythm, Ritual Awareness and a selection of new(?) songs and chants for
