New Meetup: Death and Taxes

From: Vernon
Sent on: Tuesday, August 10, 2010 10:49 AM
Announcing a new Meetup for "With an Open Mind" Discussion Group!

What: Death and Taxes

When: Monday, September 13,[masked]:30 PM

Where: Private Residence #1
6125 Castle Rock Court
Colorado Springs, CO 80919

Benjamin Franklin said, "The only things certain in life are death and taxes.? Notwithstanding the title, we WON?T be discussing ?death?, but we WILL be discussing ?taxes?. SHOULD taxes be ?certain?? If so, what are the legitimate reasons for which we should be taxed? In what ways are we currently taxed? Why are we taxed in these particular ways? Are there more effective ways in which we could be taxed? What are the likely effects of making changes to the current tax system?

Note: This discussion was originally scheduled in March of this year but was cancelled when the weather didn't cooperate. We'll presumably have better luck this time.
