From: Vernon
Sent on: Wednesday, December 10, 2008 12:21 PM
Announcing a new Meetup for "With an Open Mind" Discussion Group!

What: Better Living Through Chemistry

When: January 21,[masked]:30 PM

Where: Click the link below to find out!

Meetup Description: Historically, people used ?medicine? to cure illness or alleviate the symptoms of an illness. More recently, we?ve developed ?vaccines? to prevent illness. Now we?re developing ?supplements? that have the potential to ?enhance? our abilities.

Early in December, several scientists released an opinion piece in which they suggested that society should ?welcome new methods of improving our brain function," pointing out that doing it with pills is no more morally objectionable than eating right or getting a good night's sleep. They then called for more research and a variety of steps for managing the risks.

Under what circumstances would you ?take a pill? that might enhance your brain function? Would you encourage others to do the same?
