Tell us about your experience with writing so far. Are you new to writing, have some experience, wrote a bestselling pun?

I write a sports joke blog some of which are published in various outlets. My passion is teaching and in particular getting individuals more comfortable for the comedy stage, published writing or corporate communications. I have assisted over 500 people in getting their 1st stand-up comedy experience. I take pride in the fact that I have not had a single person become a professional comic. I guess I work with smart people. I love helping people become funnier. As they say those that can't...eventually go back to Saskatchewan.

What is your hometown?

Minton Saskatchewan, home of the Twins fastball team, Fathers Lagoon and my grade one love.

Have you ever been on stage in front of strangers to perform comedy?

I have performed on stage about 1200 times...2 of which KILLED!

How were you referred to Wit & Writing?

EvaPea invited me to help with the upcoming Challenge and I always listen to EvaPea!

What do you hope to get out of Wit & Writing?

I would like to have some fun, expand my baking repertoire and be an small part in creating more resilient Wits. I know the science of humour and laughter, have seen hundreds of people become more confident and able to withstand the realities of life by having a Witty outlook. More important I know the skills that the Wit and Writing series teach will help you enjoy life more. Who doesn't want to be a part of that?

Welcome Derek, have I seen you before... there seems to be a Brady Bunch tune floating in my head? I feel like belting out a tune, yes I know, its cruel when you use the belt. Great that you will be there to add your security services as well as your brownies. Can you bring Elfs too?
