We are a reenactment group with emphasis on the living history and battle reenactment of the Viking and Anglo Saxons from the year 870AD. We visit a number of archeaological and historical sites as well as local town and villages. It is a good way to keep fit and to meet new people and interact with members of the public. We dress up in clothing of the time, eat authentic food and sometimes live in authentic tents over a weekend. It requires commitment to training with weapons for the battle reenactment or the learning of trade if you are a non combatant such as Tablet or Heddle weaving, which can be very rewarding and fun. We are a new group and have just completed our first year of outdoor events, that has been very rewarding and has led to a lot of new events for next year such as Sutton Hoo archeaological site. Men and Women can both fight or do trades. The costs are minimal to begin with as we have no membership fee and only charge for training sessions to cover the cost of hall hire. Basic safety equipment and shields are provided for. Clothing can be made by yourself or by one of our members at a small cost.
