Saturday Workshop - Tracking Cougars & Bears

Whether you are a researcher, conservationist, hunter or lover of our regional mega-fauna, you are welcome to join us for a great day tracking along the wild and scenic Nisqually River at the gates to Mt. Rainier Nat’l Park where cougars follow elk and deer, bears harvest fish from creeks, and other animals, like us, remain alert to their presence.

11:00 On-The-Ground Training

11:45 Eye Break: Discuss Behavior of Subject Animals

12:00 Search for Fresh Sign

12:45 Eye Break: Discuss Fresh Sign

1:00 Trailing Tips & Training

1:45 Eye Break: Discuss Trailing Strategies

2:00 Trail Animal Together

2:45 Eye Break: Separate Into Teams

3:00 Separate Teams Trail Favorite Sign

3:45 Eye Break: Teams Report Findings

4:00 Questions & Instructors Depart

Costs:

$65 general.
$55 for a second friend/family member, or if you attended one of our introductory afternoon or evening wildlife classes.
$45 for a third friend/family member, or if you attended a previous wildlife tracking workshops with us.
$35 per additional friend/family member, or if you attended two previous wildlife tracking workshops with us.
$25 if you covered this subject at one of our camps/expeditions, or attended three previous wildlife tracking workshops with us.

We will also have our recommended field guides for sale, including Wildlife of the Pacific Northwest Coast by David Moskowitz, Tracks & Scat by James Halfpenny, and more.
