New Earth Community Meeting - Water Collection Tanks

Water Collection Tanks!

Wolf’s Heart is a new community of people deeply committed to the changes necessary for all life systems to continue to thrive. Inspired by the principles of permaculture, we will explore design patterns for gardening and building that work in harmony with the elements of the earth. Group members will receive practical information for making changes that can be integrated into their current suburban/urban lifestyle. Examples of topics include: rainwater harvesting/ rain barrels, urban chicken farming, using recycled materials, bee-keeping, reducing dependence on plastics, and high yield, low maintenance garden design.

We will share this journey in sacred space, using the drum to connect with one another and Mother earth. We will learn by sharing information, and by working together on home projects to develop practical skills. As a community we will open ourselves to the infinite possibilities that arise when when we join together in the spirit of love, with a commitment to change.

George presented lots of gardening information pertinent to hoosier gardeners (planting schedules, companion planting, resources for seeds, etc). I shared more ideas for weaning your family from one-use plastics, particularly ziplocks and sandwich bags. We talked about trash-free picnic and lunch packing, and plastic-free food storage. Thanks to group members for sharing re-purposed materials, i.e. foam sheets for cold box insulating during freezing temps!

    Hi everyone,
Tonight (March 4) we're focusing on early spring gardening, and related topics. We'll also cover another easy practice to eliminate one-use plastics from your home. Rainwater harvesting is our topic for March 18. See you tonight!
