This is a meetup for women who appreciate beer and want to brew it. Brewing has predominately been considered a male undertaking. The oldest written document is a Sumerian Clay tablet. It is a recipe for beer. Beer is made up of the same ingredients for bread and everything needed was found in any kitchen of that age. It was women who brewed the beer. They had a goddess, her name was NinKasi. She was a brewmaster. For over a millenium and centuries after, women continued to brew beer. Women entrepreneurs sold their malt beverages. That is where men moved in and took over. They founded guilds and resticted both brewing and selling through gulilds only. My father brewed beer in England bfore I was born. My sister and I used to spend time in search of great beers. With my son, I brew my own beer. I'm sure there's other women out there who would like to learn to make good beer. If you're one of those women, then this is the meetup for you.
