#XXHack Night: Group Coding Project

  • Sep 20, 2012 · 6:00 PM
  • This location is shown only to members

You should follow the setup git instructions and install python on your computer (macs likely come with it already) and come to this Thursday's Hack Night ready to code!! Beginners and people with more interest or background in front end engineering are welcome and encouraged to come.

If you have trouble getting things setup come and we can help out.

We have had two great hack nights working on our group hacking project. We are making a python app engine app for a boy scouts group. We have a github project that we set up last time. The notes from our requirements brainstorming are in the README file. Last week we setup people with a github account, git setup, and python setup on their computers.

About the Meetup:

To Hack: To see 'breaking' something as an opportunity to learn more. To work on a problem and collaborate to find a variety of answers.

This weekly event gives ladies a space to code together. Whether you're just getting started, or are a veteran in the tech world, there's a seat for you at the table. We welcome anything from Wordpress and Drupal dabbling, though to PHP, Ruby and Pythoners as well as all you Indesign and Photoshoppers, UX wireframers and QA testers!

The one rule: Women only.

BYOL: Bring your own laptop!

About Us:

Our goal is to set up those new to the tech world with some amazing women mentors... to pair program with, to get props from and to get the lay of the land from those in the know.

So far it is working out great. We just started warming up to each other and do not feel like strangers at all. I am not so sure about the process of breaking up of group into intermediate and advance learners groups. But definitely will give it a try.
