PyCon Talks Preview Wednesday, March 26 at ThoughtWorks

From: Naomi C.
Sent on: Thursday, March 20, 2014 4:08 PM

Since I'm one of the featured speakers, I'm sharing this announcement of a PyCon talk preview organized by Brian Curtin. Below is his announcement:

I'm Brian Curtin, a local software developer involved with the Python
community, and I wanted to let you and your group know about an event
being held next week. PyCon 2014, taking place in April in Montréal,
includes four Chicagoans, and I'm hosting a night for them to get a
practice run of their talks and also share them with our local
community before they head up north.

The talks will begin at 7 PM on Wednesday March 26 at ThoughtWorks,
200 E Randolph, and the speakers include Dave Beazley, Naomi Ceder,
Pete Fein, and Yarko Tymciurak. Food and drink are sponsored by

If you are interested in attending this free event, please RSVP on or email me directly at
[address removed] if you don't have/want an Eventbrite account.

Thanks, and hope to see you there!

Dave, Pete and Yarko all have very interesting talks, and just so you know, my talk is titled "Farewell and Welcome Home: A Python Life in Two Genders" and is about my experiences in the Python and tech communities as both male and female. I'd love to see you there.
