NGO Aid Map Launches Three New Maps

Explore what InterAction’s members are doing in China, India and Mexico through NGO Aid Map’s three newest maps, funded by FedEx. The interactive tool gives a one-of-a-kind picture of international aid that empowers NGO workers, donors, communities and other partners to see more – and do better. More than 100 of InterAction’s members currently contribute data to the initiative on 3,500 projects worldwide.

Bonus Read: InterAction’s Laia Grino reflects on the lessons learned and challenges that remain for NGO Aid Map, an ambitious open data effort launched two years ago.

Bonus Award: Apply by June 30 for the new FedEx Award for Innovations in Disaster Preparedness.

Post-2015 Agenda

U.S. Must Lead on Ending Extreme Poverty

InterAction’s Suzanne Kindervatter agrees with World Bank President Jim Yong Kim and U.S. President Barack Obama that a world without extreme poverty is possible. But it will require visionary thinking and the engagement of U.S. government and civil society leadership in a global effort, writes Kindervatter, who is leading InterAction’s engagement in the post-2015 process. Read what she recommends, in advance of a key report on the post-2015 agenda expected later in May.

Protection Standards
A Must-Read for Humanitarian, Human Rights Workers

The multitude of respondents to conflicts and other violent situations is growing, and with it the need to integrate a common set of standards in protection work. The recently-updated Professional Standards for Protection Work is a set of minimum standards for humanitarian and human rights workers which was released by the International Committee of the Red Cross. InterAction urges their adoption and integration by those working to protect people caught up in violence and conflict.
