What does your ideal community look like in it's physical form?

Each member have her own quarters with shared facilities, a common living/recreational, social space. A community garden, opportunity for shared meals, and laundry facility and car pooling. I also love the idea of a time bank, where we can offer whatever we have to offer to others, and receive in return, help or collaboration, with something that we can't accomplish on our own. A swimming pool would be a great asset. This might be in the form of multiple small dwellings on one property, a large house, a condo complex, a 4 family home, or something of that nature.

What are the values you would like to have in common with others?

Respect, a cooperative attitude, kindness, and socially responsible members. Generosity and a deep reverence for preserving and conserving our natural resources. Inconspicious consumption!

What motivates you to want this experience?

I believe it is the way that we who live individually, can benefit in a socially dynamic context, giving, receiving and sharing to everyone's benefit.

What do you have to contribute to the community?

I can offer to lead yoga and meditation, give drawing and painting lessons, as well as teach conversational Spanish. I am a great cook and enjoy sharing healthy vegetarian food with others. I am a natural networker.

Profile of you. Tell us about you. What would you like us to know about you?

I have lived most of my adult life abroad. I am the mother of two grown sons and a fairly new gaga grandma to an 18 month old boy. I have a daily meditation practice, and a consciousness about health which includes eating well, moderate exercise, walking , swimming, yoga, Tai Chi, and giving to the community. I have spent months living in a yoga community and as of October, i will spend a month in residence at a large yoga center in the Northeast. Traveling has been a life enhancing, mind expanding practice, that I continue to do, whenever I can. I believe the more we can see, feel and touch people from other cultures, the more tolerant, less fearful, and larger we become. I am a member of Couchsurfing, a wonderful virtual community which builds trust through hosting people from abroad, just to be able to share what we have with others. I am a firm believer in energetic medicine and lately, Magic!

I am a seeker, a traveler, a painter and a yoga instructor. Living in community seems the sensible answer for sustainability and well being. A beautiful and harmonious environment is important to me.
