Humans are a complex breed—quirky, demanding, submissive, creative, communicative, sometimes not so much. Being able to get the best from people is no simple matter. It takes intuition, training, occasionally a soft touch, other times a swift kick to the posterior. Talent management is not an easy task.
Susan Miele, in her long career, has proved exceptionally adept at getting maximum results from her teams. After holding several human-resources positions in publishing and professional services, she joined information-services company Thomson & Thomson in 1997 as vice president of human services. Two years later, she moved to Thomson Financial where her HR department supported 2,000 employees on the company’s Boston campus. Her impressive résumé includes chief people officer at Omgeo, a DTCC/Thomson Financial Joint Venture; senior partner and practice leader Camden Consulting Group; Smith & Nephew’s global director of organizational development; and the interim president of Strong Women Strong Girls, a nonprofit mentoring program for young women.
Miele earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Massachusetts and a master’s from Lesley University in training and organizational development. She and her husband, Ken, live in Arlington, Mass., with their teen-age daughter, Allison.
This event is intended to be exclusively open for people who identify as women -- we are inherently queer and transgender friendly.
