Ruby Study Group- 1st Birthday Party!

Our Ruby Study group is turning One Year Old this month! This month's study group will be part learning and part celebration!

We'll be giving away Ruby books, cool tech swag (awesome t-shirts and more!), getting our study on, eating, and generally having a great time!

PLEASE UPDATE YOUR RSVP SO WE KNOW HOW MUCH FOOD TO ORDER!

Study Group info:

This is an inclusive study group for women of all skill levels who would like to practice Ruby. Are you learning Ruby and looking for other women to study with? Do you have a project you'd like to collaborate on? Are you just beginning your Ruby journey and would like some help getting started? ...Join us!!

Our Format: This is a self-directed session where you can work through your latest project, tutorial, or book. Bring your current project and work on it, collaborate, or get some help! We even have programming books that you can check out and return either next month or once you're done with them.

Newbies are welcome!: If you're brand-spakin-new, just show up and we'll get you started at tryruby.org and other free resources. :) This will be an inclusive work session where we can spend some time upgrading our own skills and helping each other build theirs. From experts to beginners, all are welcome.

What to bring: Your computer and something to work on. (Contact us if you want some suggestions or if your computer isn't portable; we're happy to help!)

Where: We are hosted at local tech company, iTriage (learn about them in this recent article), in downtown Denver at 1500 Wynkoop St. Suite 500. When you arrive, call the number posted on the door so we can send someone down to let you in! (The building is locked after hours, so call and someone will come down to bring you up.)

Food: We're doing a group-order this time, so please email Rylee if you have any dietary restrictions!

Questions: If you have any questions, please comment in the event or email Rylee directly ([masked]). Thanks!

Please Note: Our members self-identify as female. We emphatically support transgender attendees and are queer-friendly. If you have any questions, email [masked] and I'll be happy to discuss. Thanks!

I just came home to dog puke everywhere. I am a bit worried. I think I need to stay home to watch the pup since Matt is in Texas for the THR training. I am sorry and sad that I am missing out but I will try to be there next time. Have fun!

All women interested in programming in Ruby are welcome to attend! It's totally fine if you've not attended before or are just getting started. :)

Hi, I am so new at coding. I don't know if this would be a good first meetup for me. I've taken some web development classes, but have not explored Ruby on Rails. thanks

We're 100% beginner-friendly. If you're simply interested in learning Ruby, then this is the place for you! :)
