iOS Study Group - 4/4

  • April 4, 2013 · 6:30 PM

Come and learn to make iOS apps in Objective-C!

We will work in groups to make a simple app each night. All levels of coders are welcome to attend.

This week's topic is Navigation patterns! We'll cover Modal View Controllers, UINavigationController and UITabBarController.

If this is your first time working with Objective-C and Xcode, please take a look at the Learning iOS Resources page on our Wiki.

All lessons, examples, and code will be posted to our group GitHub account: https://github.com/iosstudygroup

We also have a Google Group: https://groups.google.com/forum/?fromgroups=#!forum/ios-study-group

Schedule:

6:30 - 7:00 Dinner

7:00 - 8:00 Coding

8:00 - 9:00 Individual coding and Q&A

Thank you to Chute for hosting, and Pitchbox for sponsoring dinner!

What to do beforehand?

You will need a Mac computer running OSX[masked] or later. Please install Xcode from the Mac App Store before you arrive! It is a very large program and will take some time to download.

If you do not have a Mac, please let us know in your RSVP so we can try to pair women together.

This event is exclusively open to people who identify as female.

I can't make it to this one--I'm so sad! Could you post the code from the class up on github? Giving up my spot so someone else gets a chance!

Please. I've been trying to attend these meetings for more than a month! But I'm always on the waiting list. I have a mac, I can share it.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
