Holy cr@p - you have a technical interview coming up. Where does one start to study & practice?!
Join Women Who Code (Silicon Valley branch) and Facebook to flesh out your technical interviewing skills, seek advice, and practice for coding on those big scary whiteboards.
We'd like to ensure that the attendees are genuinely interested in brushing up on interview skills, so this event is open to current engineers as priority! Sorry to those who are just learning to code. Feel free to bring your resume for critique, but this is an interview focused workshop so our individual mentors will not be going in-depth on the application part of the process.
Please note: This event is for women, and those who identify as being a woman. Emphatically trans- and queer-friendly.
6:00p - 6.15p arrive/ mingle (check in at Lobby 15)
6.15p dinner/ more mingling
7:00p Resume presentation with Q & A by Kendra Arimoto
7:30p Interview presentation by Poornima Vijayashanker
7:45p Break into small groups for hands-on and 1:1 practice, with mentors from Facebook, Google and more.
9:00p Beauty rest!
(We also recommend the book Cracking the Coding Interview by Gayle Laakman McDowell, who recently spoke about it at a Women Who Code interviewing workshop in SF!)
Are you an interviewer?
We are looking for more experienced technical interviewers from the WWC community to help out at the event! The more we have, the more 1:1 support we can provide to the group. Email womenwhocodesv at gmail if you can help out, and thanks to those who are already volunteering!
NOTE: This is a space limited event and we are relying on a full turnout to make the most of our generous hosts' time and resources - please keep your RSVP up to date. A reminder will be sent closer to the event date.
PLEASE ARRIVE BETWEEN 6PM - 6.15 PM if you would like to join us for dinner.
