Great start, looking forward to meeting more women in this field, was really nice to talk to others about it and share thoughts and ideas and learn.

I have class on Mon/Wed nights this term. I'm open Tue/Thur. It's just the roll of the die with class scheduling for me each term. I'm open this summer though.

I'm really excited to see everyone tomorrow!

We will be creating a blog to document all of the topics discussed so everyone can stay updated even if they can't make it to the meeting. There will be meeting notes, links, and actionable steps for future meetings.

Please don't forget to share this meetup with your friends!

Perhaps a local school such as Rasmusson* or Devry or HCC. They are known to have large meeting spaces.

Alright ladies, I'm going to officially assign the location to the Clearwater Perkins. Let me know if this is a problem for any of you.

Additionally, let me know if there are any topics you'd like to discuss at this first meeting. I look forward to meeting all of you!

I've been looking at future venues and talking to people who may be able to lend us a space to meet in, but for the first meeting I'd like it to be in Clearwater. We were considering having our first meeting to at Perkins Palm Harbor. We also talked about somewhere like a restaurant at Countryside Mall (most likely BJ'S Brewhouse) and I was also thinking about possibly having it at Perkins in Clearwater, which is a straight shot from the Courtney Campbell Causeway. I figured that would be more accessible to people coming from Tampa. I'm leaning towards Perkins of Clearwater because it's more centric to Clearwater and Tampa, along with the fact that Countryside Mall is usually pretty crowded in the restaurant area, but I'd like to see what works for everyone else who has RSVP'd.

What are your thoughts? Would anyone have any problems with hosting at Perkins in Clearwater?

I am also fine with this location!

I have a space in Gulfport that we could meet, quiet, no food. Seems like a better venue to me than at a restaurant. Also I could probably do it at my condo clubhouse, which is also nice and quiet for meetings. This is around 54th and Park.

That is great, thank you JoAnn! We will definitely keep it in mind for future meetups. I am hoping to find sponsors to allow us to meet in non-restaurant locations but still have food.

Does anyone have any further suggestions for Pinellas county venues?

There's a Tijuana Flats across the street that we could eat at depending how many RSVP, but if we stay around 7-10 we should be fine. Most of the places IN the mall tend to get really crowded, though Red Robin might be another good alternative.

Hello and welcome to our newest members. We are still trying to find a good venue for the Clearwater/Palm Harbor side of the bay, so please feel free to suggest any new locations.

Over the next week, we will start calling around and getting the details finalized. We can't wait to meet you all!

The Children's Board of Hillsborough County has a nice building with several conference rooms of various sizes that they let groups like this reserve for free. The building is near downtown Tampa in Ybor City, and it has its own large parking lot in the back.

I definitely can't make a meetup on Wednesdays hosted in Dunedin, but I wanted to convey my interest in this group, regardless. If it were Thursday, I could probably make it.

Thanks for your input! Future meetups will be on different days of the week depending on how many people can attend, so I'm sure that we'll have a meeting on a Thursday soon. Additionally, the location for future meetings will most likely be in Tampa. I'll post the highlights of this meeting for those who can't make it too so you don't miss anything.

I live & work in Ruskin, so Dunedin is pretty far for me to go. I'll keep an eye on this group and try to attend if you do anything further south like Tampa, St. Pete, Ybor City, etc.

Hey Mariella, it's totally understandable. We are going to do split meetings, so we will have some on this side of the bay in Dunedin, Palm Harbor, St. Pete, etc. and also some in Tampa. We obviously encourage you to attend all of the meetings (especially the first!) but we understand travel is not ideal for many and we will split locations across the causeways to ensure we can cover the gamut of Tampa Bay.

And as a follow-up, the location of this one is completely up for discussion. Our goal is to find what is needed and wanted of the group so if you have any ideal locations to suggest, please do so!

I would like to nominate Perkins Palm Harbor as the meetup place - it's located right on the Dunedin border. I used to attend an SEO meetup there and it was super comfy, no minimum orders, plus vegetarian + breakfast + lunch options. The meetup room was very comfortable and we had 15+ people in there comfortably!
