Welcome! Introduce yourself to us:

My name is Sharon Burkitt. I relocated to Greensboro from Ohio five years ago to attend graduate school at UNCG. At age 68 I have recently launched a new career as a psychotherapist, which I thoroughly enjoy.

Talk about writing a moment:

First, I am a rank beginner. I hadn't thought much about writing until I went back to school and found that writing gave me clarity and self-awareness. I like the "flow" feeling I get once I have started a project. Lately I have felt a yearning to write essays about various life experience and sort of delve into topics of interest to me.

What would you like to get out of this group?

I need accountability in order to even start, much less complete, a project. I am very much interested in short 10 -15 minute writing exercises and between meeting projects to share at meetings. I also would like to know about books, guides websites, and workshops.

How did you find us?

I searched meetup specifically for a writer's group.
