Tools & Techniques for Advancing Meditation
Meditation is an ancient practice offering techniques that create the conditions for balance and openness in the body, and lucidity in the mind. Adapted from Yoga, Zen & Tibetan buddhist traditions, this workshop offers tools that can be used everyday to strengthen your meditation practice.
In this workshop, themes of compassion and wisdom are reinforced as purposeful goals for the meditative journey. Working with posture and mudras, we will learn how to sense networks of energy in the body and to cultivate relaxed attention. To help the mind rest in its natural state of awareness, we will use cleansing breathwork and mantra to hone our ability to experience silence between thoughts. Using internal symbols, we will work on increasing focus and conquering fear, and with deity yoga practice, discover the profound benefits of embodying a beneficial view of self and others.

Some past meditation experience recommended.
Wear comfortable clothing. Bring a rug/blanket/mat to sit on, an image of a deity/buddha/saint that inspires you, and a journal to write down practices that work for you.
