RSVPing for EVWOC Events
RSVP stands for Répondez S'il Vous Plaît (Respond Please)
and is the system used to sign up for specific Meetup Events.
Please only RSVP "YES" for events if you think you are most likely to attend.
If you are not sure whether or not you will be able to attend RSVP "NO" for the event and then as the event moves closer you can always change your RSVP to "YES".
It's important that we have the exact number of people attending so that:
- We know to look out for you
- We make accurate reservations based on our RSVP list THIS IS ESSENTIAL!
- We can accurately prepare for the right amount of people. We do alot of pot lucks and we do not have money or time to waste making/buying extra food that will not be eaten.
RSVP is a very important tool to an Organizer as it lets us know how many people to expect. It is ESSENTIAL
if reservations need to be made. If you do not show up for an event when you have RSVPed YES, this can create problems with the venue
. Please show consideration to the Organizer by updating your RSVP to NO by the day BEFORE an event if you can no longer attend the event.
Some establishments require a credit card to hold reservations on large parties. So I rely on the YES RSVP list to make reservations for our group. i.e. When I RSVP for 25 people and only 15 show up they then want to bill my Credit Card for the descrepancy in the attendance. IF THIS HAPPENS I WILL RECOUPE THESE FUNDS FROM THE INDIVIDUALS THAT "NO SHOW" FOR THE EVENT.
To be a "NO SHOW
", means you RSVPed YES for a Meetup Event and did not attend it AND you did NOT change your RSVP and/or contact the Organizer in charge with enough advance notice to advise them of your non-attendance. We understand that things happen in life, you may be sick or something comes up, but it is a sign of simple courtesy to advise the Organizer, that you can no longer attend the event. If you have any questions, please email the Organizer responsible for the event as soon as possible.
If you can no longer attend a Meetup Event that you have RSVPed YES for:
You can remain a member in good standing if you change your RSVP to NO and/or email the Organizer to advise of the change in your plans in plenty of advance notice (the morning of an evening event, or preferably at leasts in 5-7 hours advance notice.
We understand at some point you may need to change your RSVP from a "yes" to a "no". That happens sometimes. We do not have a problem with that. Just come back to the event page, and update your RSVP.
All I ask is that you COMMUNICATE WITH ME
and exercise common courtesy.
When is a member not in good standing?
A member is not in good standing when they are a "no show" for two Meetup Events.
After 3 "no shows", they will be removed from the Group.
Thanks everybody for your understanding!!
