N.E.D. the Movie: One Night Screening

Cheryl Guarna (Oncology Rehab and Wellness Resources, LLC) and I are hosting a special one-time screening of No Evidence of Disease. We would love for you to join us for this event, and to help get the word out about this film. Making vital information about this intimidating subject accessible is no easy task, but No Evidence of Disease, through a compelling combination of storytelling and music, accomplishes it.

We are organizing this screening through a theater-on-demand platform called Tugg. To reserve your tickets, please visit our Tugg Event Page at http://www.tugg.com/events/7266. Unlike a traditional movie showing, this screening requires that 78 tickets be reserved before the March 6 in order for the screening to happen. We're going to need your help if we’re going to make this event happen!

A little bit about the movie: In 2008, six cancer surgeons from around the country discovered their shared passion for medicine extended to music. What began as a one-time gig playing cover songs for fellow surgeons turned into a rock band, named for the words every cancer patient dreams of hearing, No Evidence of Disease (N.E.D).

As many of you know, Cheryl has made helping people who have, or have had, cancer her life's work. To make this event even more special, it would be the 31st birthday of my daughter, who died of ovarian cancer two years ago. We have a very personal stake in making sure this screening happens.

It would be wonderful to see you in the audience, and we'd really appreciate you helping us spread the word. (Tweet it, post it, email it!) This is an opportunity to spend time with friends while creating life-saving awareness of this disease. Your presence will have an exponential effect – the best tool for us to save lives is knowledge, and this screening is a great way to get it.

So after RSVPing "Yes" here in on the W.O.W. meetup, go to the http://www.tugg.com/events/7266 and reserve your tickets. Your credit card won't be charged until our minimum threshold is met.

Thanks to all of you who attended last night's screening of N.E.D. the movie. Photos will be posted on the Oncology Rehab and Wellness web site and Facebook page. I added info on FB about where to purchase N.E.D.s music. Feel free to email Cheryl or me directly if you have any questions.

We are very excited about tomorrow's screening of N.E.D., and we just learned that Jennie McGihon, who is featured in the documentary is attending. We will have a brief Q & A immediately after the show. Also, there are a few extra tickets donated by supporters. If you know someone who might want to attend but cannot afford the cost of a ticket, please contact me. Tickets are also available to purchase via the tugg site until four hours before showtime. See you tomorrow.

We are SO close to our 78-ticket minimum for this screening to take place. Yay! Thanks so much to those of you who reserved tickets. We'll miss those who can't attend. And there's still time to change your mind if you're still on the fence!

Now we need everyone's help getting to the 78-ticket minimum threshold so this screening actually happens! If you're thinking about reserving tickets, just do it today! What a wonderful event and a very important goal. As a past volunteer for the American Cancer Society, it was the education we passed on to women that ultimately helped me detect my own breast cancer early which probably saved my life. Kathryn and I look forward to being a part of this presentation..

Looking forward to attending this very special event...Cheryl you are not only following your passion, you are changing lives every day with your work. :)

I completely agree that the best way to save lives is through knowledge - my mother went through breast cancer last year and was told the only way it was detected was through 3D mammography. She had the tumor removed and had radiation last summer. Now, my entire family is making sure we spread the word about early detection and the screening process and how very vital it is to ASK QUESTIONS. Claire, it will be an honor to meet you as well!

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
