CEH + Pentest Study Group

This CEH + pentest study group will prepare you to pass the exam as well as give you the basics of performing a penetration test.

The format will be the same as CISSP study group - read the chapter beforehand and come prepared.  Study questions will be given before and after class. These will help prepare your for the exam as well as gauge where you are with the course. For each chapter we'll do hands-on pen testing as it relates accordingly.

We’ll be using a hybrid mentor model using the google group. Questions and discussions can be posted so other’s not in the class can take advantage of learning from them. Otherwise access to the host is always available for one-on-one questions.

This class will be using the book Official Certified Ethical Hacker Review Guide: For Version 7.1 (with Premium Website Printed Access Card and CertBlaster Test Prep Software Printed Access Card), by Steven DeFino, Larry Greenblatt. You can get it shipped for a total cost of $25.

This class is 14 weeks long. Pricing differs depending on if you attend onsite vs remotely. If you payed for remote attendance but want to come onsite that week, pay the $5 difference online. This class won't be recorded this time around.

Once registered, you’ll receive specific instructions on how to prepare for this class (laptop, linux, etc). Please be on time. We have a lot to cover in three hours. In hour one, we’ll go over questions. Hours 2 and 3 will be pentesting labs.

Will this class qualify you to take the exam? Or will you still need to take one of EC-Council's preferred vendor classes?

What security class would you recommend me taken to get the experience I need?

      May 9, 2013

    • Lisa J.

Sandra, you dont "need" security experience to take this class. You will need the experience as it pertains to the requirements to take the exam though. You gain experience through OJT or through schooling. Some have said that Eccouncil has accepted experience from college classes they took. Check out the CEH Handbook http://cert.eccouncil...
