Penetration Testing with Armitage and Cobalt Strike

Join us for the Women's Society of Cyberjutsu (WSC) Cybersecurity Workshop hosted from our Washington, DC location. This is a hands-on, practical workshop where you will put into practice those things you may have read or covered in a class. This is also a great way to keep your skills fresh if you're a veteran.

Every workshop addresses beginner and advanced topic material. Beginners are encouraged to watch and learn as much as possible even though you may not have a clue. Exposure to new tools and techniques by watching will advance your learning process a lot quicker than trying to learn on your own. You will get to ask questions and see how it's done in the real world. Advanced attendees are encouraged to share and help answer "noob" questions as much as possible so everyone can learn from them.

Agenda:

The Metasploit Framework is a must-have tool for penetration testers. Armitage builds a workflow on top of the Metasploit Framework and exposes its most advanced capabilities. Cobalt Strike augments Armitage with tools to simulate advanced persistent threat-style targeted attacks. This lab oriented class will introduce you to the penetration testing process from the perspectives of Armitage and Cobalt Strike. You'll learn how to craft an attack package, deliver it to a target, spy on a user, attack systems from a foothold, and abuse trust relationships to gain access.

We're pleased to have Raphael Mudge present this workshop. Raphael is the founder of Strategic Cyber LLC, a Washington, DC based company that creates software for red teams. Raphael’s work pioneered ideas to allow red teams to collaborate and scale their efforts. He also worked on red team automation through DARPA’s Cyber Fast Track program. Besides Armitage, Raphael is the creator of the threat emulation software Cobalt Strike and the inventor of the grammar checker on WordPress.com. His work has appeared on the cover of the Linux Journal, the Fox sitcom Breaking In, and other publications. Raphael regularly speaks on security topics and provides red team support to many cyber defense exercises.ork and exposes its most advanced capabilities. Having trouble extracting the files out of the Cobalt Strike Workshop zipx file, anyone else having problems? Decompression error occurred. Native Error 00074

I too got an "unknown compression" error message on all the .pdf files when using Windows based unzipper. The .zipx file extension was a clue that the compress was Linux based. So on a Linux machine and an archive manger for GNOME, "File Roller," I was able to successfully uncompress all the files.
