This is a  women's self defense course focusing on self defense techniques modified for street and home defense from attackers. Why take this course? Because you may be faced with a decision to use self defense at any given time. If you car breaks down on the side of the road & a stranger approaches you with evil intent. Or you may come home finding a burglar in your residence; hiking or jogging in a secluded trail and someone tries to cause you harm. Is this being paranoid? Paranoia is defined as a mental disorder marked by delusions and irrational suspicions. Is there anything in the scenarios listed above that is irrational or unrealistic? No.

Is it probable? Statistically no, it is not probable, but it could happen with a probability similar to you getting in a serious car accident on the way home tonight. Statistics don't matter when you are the one-in-one thousand.

No martial arts experience nec. Casual or sportswear attire is sufficient.  No credit cards accepted.

Instructor: Elmer Tancinco, 5th degree black belt in Aikido (Chief Instructor Alameda Aikido)

Location: Alameda Aikido dojo - 2025 Clement Ave. Alameda 94501

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
