New Moon / New Year Drumming, Cauldroning and Cavorting

  • Dec 31, 2013 · 9:00 PM
  • Private Residence

UPDATE: In case you did not recieve the email.  Please bring something to sit on. We'll be on a stone tile floor.

Shall we drum in the New Moon and the New Year?  Renew with sound, compost old expectations, and offer our willingness to cooperate with even greater adventures.

Arrive at 9 p.m.  Drum as long or as little as you like.  Scrap paper and a small cauldron will be on hand if you'd like to ignite the old or illuminate the new
 for the Moon and 2014.

Bring rattles, drums, etc, as the means with which we shall raise energy, and hoist our sails.

[For your information, although this Meetup will be long over by then, the new moon will occur on New Year's Day, at 5:14 a.m., Austin time.]

It was great to have sane, reverent menfolk there.

Though I was not there in person, I was there in spirit. I read Donna's beautiful words, then my whole family and I left behind the old, and welcomed in the new while sitting around a fire pit. A lovely tradition I have been doing for several years, but this is the first time I incorporated the wee ones. It was a great joy to do so. Thank you all! Xo

Thank you, Danu, to you and your husband for opening your home to us. Happy New Year! All blessings to your family. xo

That which no longer serves has been returned to earth. That which is desired is already on its way! It was good to see everyone.

Hi, was hoping I would be well enough to come, but woke up today feeling quite under the weather. I'll be thinking of you and drumming with you in spirit. Wishing you all a terrific new year. Hope to see you on Friday!
    And Happy Birthday Noelle!

Sorry for cancelling at the last moment. I've had an ongoing headache for almost two weeks and I'd hoped that I would be feeling better by now. Pounding head plus pounding drums is a poor combination. Happy new year to all! I hope to see you all soon.

    December 31, 2013

    • Donna

Bless you, Eleigh. Happy New Year to you and Chris. May your headache evaporate. xo

I just realize I was no longer wait listed! I have made plans to Skype the new year with my sister, so I'm so sorry but I won't be able to attend. I wish you all a happy new year and I'm keeping a grape to
Wish happiness and health for all of you in 2014

Enjoy your convo, Sara! Happy New Year to you and yours. xo

I'm going to have to bow out for this evening. I am afraid that my back is not going to cooperate with my sitting for any period of time at all tonight. I've been doing yoga throughout the day, but my body says to do the ceremony standing and moving. :) So I'll have to dance and drum, the year in. I hope someone else can take and enjoy my spot. Best Wishes to everyone for 2014.

We'll miss you, Rosemary! You are so good with your RSVPs. Thanks so much, particularly for this small space and the waitlist. It helps so much. xo

If you cannot make it, don't forget to RSVP no on meetup. Others are waiting. We look forward to seeing you.

I have to change my RSVP. My wee ones and I will not be able to make it there. However, I will be celebrating with Drumming and Cavorting at my own casa. Illness in the family keeps me from actually attending though.....

i read that that space, not surprisingly, is in danger of no longer being available for events. read something about yet another group of people trying to quickly come togethe to save the space, much as other groups have tried to protect spaces in ever-changing austin. :(

So is the drumming going to be at midnight or at 5:14 am?

    December 19, 2013

    • Donna

Drumming when we arrive at 9; cauldroning as we please. Cahoot as long or as little as you wish. I start my day before 6 a.m. and turn into a pumpkin shortly after 10 p.m. I won't hold out until midnight much less 5.

      December 19, 2013

    • Donna

Wasn't clear. Hope I fixed that in the event info. Thanks for pointing that out, Danu.

      1 · December 19, 2013

I'm gonna say yes, for now...we usually stay home for New Years!! It will be fun to drum in the New Year with the sisters!
