Wonderland - Anne Barnhill, "QUEEN ELIZABETH'S DAUGHTER: A Novel of Elizabeth I"

Join us on the last Friday of every month from 10:00 am to 12:00pm at Center for Excellence, 3803-B Computer Drive, Suite 106, Raleigh, NC 27609. It is just south of 440 off of Six Forks Road.

Many of us read fiction like writers, so this group is especially attuned to aspiring writers who want to know more about the craft of writing. The books we chose are all available in paperback and can be found at the library in print or audio.

The Wonderland Book Club is sponsored by the North Carolina Writers' Network (NCWN) www.ncwriters.org

You can find the book here:  http://www.amazon.com/Queen-Elizabeths-Daughter-Novel-Elizabeth/dp/0312662122/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1401657552&sr=1-1&keywords=anne+barnhill

I agree with the comments. It was a great meeting, and Anne's talk covered a lot of ground about her book, much more than any reading could give you. As usual, we got to know how the life of the writer connects with her creation, and how magical sometimes is the process. Wonderland Book Club is one of the (sort of) best-kept secrets for Triangle writers, and it never disappoints. And there's also another amazing string of writers lined up for 2015 (thank you, Alice)

I agree, Jorge. So glad Alice introduced me to this well-kept secret. See you at our Christmas party.

I really enjoyed both Anne's talk about Elizabethan England and her outfit and our discussion of the book. Great meeting!

Thank you, Wonderland Book Club, for making 2014 one of the best years we've ever had! We hosted author Anne Barnhill, whose novel QUEEN ELIZABETH'S DAUGHTER, was amazing. Anne dressed up for us in her Tudor costume, educating us on the 16th century dress and customs. We had a fabulous, insightful discussion and continued the conversation at our best-attended lunch. See you all next month, Fri, Dec 19th for our wrapped used book exchange (a tradition going on 7 years!) and holiday cookie exchange.

Sorry I have to miss book club tomorrow. Last minute preparations for my son's wedding are becoming hectic.
