Fifth Meetup Short Minutes:

We met at my apartment in Queens for approx. 6 hrs. We entertained ourselves with some scenes from Crank 2 (blu ray) while we waited for the grooup members to show up and sucked down some cake, chips and drinks I got for us.
After we all got here, we watched Maliks trailer for Judgment (with Brittany who's a friend of Maliks and was a guest at the meetup). I introduced then a piece of audio equipment I purchased last week for a little show and tell. It is the Zoom h4n ( H4Next ), me and Baron went over some of the features while others spoke amongst themselves.
Icela and Philip spoke about their casting choices for "Enemy Mind" A scene/Trailer. We looked through some head shots of the Actors and then viewed the video recorded auditions tape of the actors they chose.
Me, Ajit and Philip took a few stills. I tried to record some of the meet during the audition tape viewing but I placed the Zoom in the wrong place to capture the audio (it was on the floor, note: don't place it on the floor to record when using the on board mics).
After we dealt with a power issue for the Canon 5D Mark II, we set-up and shot a scene with little coverage
and a single boom running through the h4n (2 channel stereo). Icela and Philip read the scene and acted it out, Baron was behind the 5D, I was monitoring the audio and Ajit was booming for the first time ever.

As baron played with the clips on his macbook pro, we went back and fourth, on and on about camera's, Progressive vs. Interlaced, Full HD vs. HDV, Depth of Field, and listed to some of the audio the zoom recorded.
After all was said and done we take our leave, all the cake was gone, most of the drinks and chips but someone unknown left $10 on the snack table, that was really nice and appreciated for the help.

The meetup payment was made this Tuesday and this group will remain open as long as I can afford to keep it open.

We are deciding on working with either Avid or Final Cut Pro (Edition Version Unknown right now). Also whether or not to use a Steady Cam, Dolly and Crane/Jib.

Mission Statement:
I decided to start this group because I am a laid off Film Maker from Woodhaven and would like to start a group that can collectively make Films and Movies using all members available resources for DVD, PBS, or Festivals (open to members choice). I have production (HDV Cam, Dolly Tripod, Crane Jib, Mics, HDPro Firestore) and post production equipment (Final Cut Pro Studio 2, 5.1 Surround) I want to put to use again.

If you are a Film Maker, Videographer, Musician, Screen Writer, Gaffer, Director, Cinematographer, Editor, Sound Designer, Best Boy/Girl, Photographer or any other type of artist interested in putting your ideas onto the screen. We except people who want to learn by doing, or who wants to make Films otherwise. We earn as equal partners (Credit and experience or anything else we gain).

We can all share, work on, shoot and edit those scripts and ideas that sit on your hard drive or in that notebook, dreaming to be made. We work together under person to person Contracts, we earn credit unless otherwise noted.

You make your own life happen, you're out of the womb, you can make your own decisions to make splashes or tidal waves.
