Another super jam! I thought we were pretty much "on" today and sounded good! Enjoyed meeting the new members and seeing everybody we already knew. :)

To all.... don't forget to reverse your RSVP if you find that you are not attending. We currently have people on the wait list. See you all tomorrow.

Hey all, I talked to someone at Acres about moving the tables, he said maybe just one can be moved no place to put the others, (Safety and Fire code issues
    I'm sure). We'll get by.

    • Rob T.

Ok. Then I will leave the max count the same.

For new members: parking is street parking (free) or at the Marriot with ticket that Goose's Acre validates (but only for two hours). The lot across the street used to be $5, but the other day it was "event parking" for $10, so I don't know. We have always found closeby street parking.

OK- Is it safe to say I should print out all the songs on the jam set list of[masked] and the songs posted after that? I just want to be prepared since this is my 1st time with the group.

    July 23, 2014

    • Melinda

At the brewery, you will at least need the first songs from the set list. Those are our "greatest hits." :) I wouldn't print *everything* yet until after Goose's Acre, unless you just want the charts. Some of the most recent songs in the files we've never sung. Sometimes people upload songs but don't show up or nobody requests that song, so we never learn it. The songs on the set list we do know and have sung. At the brewery, we will be using that list, unless people want to add to or subract from it. You can always look on with somebody if you don't have a chart for a song. We usually do songs that everybody can at least strum or sing along with.

      July 23, 2014

    • Barbara S.

OK--the songs look simple enough to play so we'll see how it goes!

      July 23, 2014

  • Barbara S.

I'm confused on what the set list is for 07-27-14. Is it all the songs posted on the 'files' after[masked]? Or does it include songs before that?

    July 23, 2014

    • Melinda

There's not a set list for Sunday at Goose's Acre. That's just a jam, and you can request anything that's posted, or post any other charts, or bring charts with you, just so everybody can play and sing along. The set list posted from July 11th we used at our last "gig" at the brewery. The first songs with asterisks are the ones we know well; the next songs are ones we still need to work on. The "additional songs" are songs we sing and have charts for, but they weren't the best ones for the brewery. For the August 22nd gig at the brewery, we will be using the set list, since it is a performance, we will be mic'd, and there will be an audience. Rob labeled it a jam, but it's really a free (they pay us in beer), five-hour gig. Hope this answers your questions! :)

I guess I'm on the wait list... Should I still come? It looks like a full house...

    July 22, 2014

    • Melinda

Just watch the RSVP list. Sometimes someone has to change their RSVP at the last minute. Twelve with instruments and music stands will be a *very* full house. That's the most we've ever had, and that night they moved a table out for us so we would fit. Just keep an eye on the list and see if anyone who RSVP'd early has changed their RSVP.

Since I'm new... Can you tell me what the format is and is there a song list or music somewhere that we are gonna be playing together?

    July 22, 2014

    • Melinda

Lance, go to the menu above, click "More>Files" and you can access all the song charts. I think you know where that is, since you uploaded some songs. There's also a set list from our last "gig" a couple of weeks ago with the songs we usually sing.

Just a reminder that everybody should consume something, even if it's just a soft drink or iced tea, and that our $5-per-person quarterly contributions are due so Rob can pay the Meetup fees for the group.

    July 22, 2014

  • Allen H.

Looks like we are going to have a full house. Maybe we can ask them, if we could move out the tables. I don't mind calling and asking if some one could tell me who to talk to? (or if that's ok) More people more drinks for them.

    1 · July 22, 2014

    • Rob T.

Go for it. Let me know if they will, and I will add 4 more to the max number.

      July 22, 2014

    • Melinda

They moved out one table the first time we went and put it in the hall outside the room. I think that time we had about twelve, and it was crowded, even with the table moved out, but we all fit. Let us know what they tell you!
