It's time, again, for our Runners Bootcamp!
Please RSVP and join us as we push ourselves a bit harder than normal. Our bootcamp will be a hard workout in and around Doughboy and Windmuller Parks - but is designed to be appropriate for anybody who can comfortably complete our regular 3ish mile group runs.
Our Bootcamp focuses on building running strength, speed and flexibility. Please be prepared for a good amount of hard running - sprints, stairs, hills and other things you probably wouldn’t normally do. Our workout is not a copy of the standard bootcamp sessions you'll find at most gyms, as we focus on lower-body work and running. But, we will also do some squats, crunches and various types of push-ups to round out the workout and show us which muscles we don’t use often enough. The program has been designed by your versatile organizer who is also an RRCA certified running coach.
NOTE: RSVP is mandatory for this event. This is for your safety and to keep the group size to a level that your cautious organizer can manage.
We will start promptly at 9:15am, so please please please do not be late (and, if possible, try to arrive a few minutes early). Plan for about a 40 minute workout. You are encouraged to join us for our light Saturday morning 5K-ish group run that starts at 10am to round out the morning.
Please ensure that you properly hydrate the day before so that you are prepared (message the organizer if you have questions or need guidance). There are water fountains along the way, but feel free to bring your own water if you prefer.
The bootcamp session will be rescheduled in the event of rain or extreme high temperatures. If we do need to cancel, notice will be sent to all who RSVP no later than 8:45am and posted online.
