Thursday Evening 6ish Mile Casual Run

Please join us on Thursday evening for a 6 mile, casual-pace loop run.

We will meet just inside the 52nd Street entrance to Windmuller Park at 7:00pm and head out for a 6ish mile loop through Woodside, Sunnyside, LIC, and Greenpoint, before returning to the start. We won't set a minimum pace requirement for this run. But, please be sure that you can comfortably run a full 6 miles without stopping before deciding to participate.

For our evening runs, we will wait up to 10 minutes to allow for late-arrivals. This can mean we will wait for 2 minutes or 10. Please be prompt.

If there is interest after we complete our run, we may venture to a pub for snacks and/or beverages.

Note that this run is held rain, snow or shine. In the event of very nasty weather or hazardous conditions, notice will be posted online, and all who RSVP will receive an email alert advising of any change in plans.

Hi All - We've got a little bonus for this evening's group run. We'll meet with our 'hood neighbors from the LIC Runners at Court Square, who will be joining us for part of our route through Greenpoint. Tonight is the first in their new series of weekly 4ish mile group runs that will finish near Vernon Blvd. (and then venture off to find beverages afterward).

This is really similar to our route, but we start differently. We start at Windmuller, go down Skillman to Queens BLVD make a quick right then a left on Jackson Ave and follow that to the Pulaski Bridge. We could certainly add on a little detour to see the egg on Franklin. Wouldn't add too much to our run and I love these eggs. I just saw a beautiful one in Grand Central today.

Erica, I think I have a change in plans anyway. Hopefully I'll get to run this with you in the future! If you still want to do the egg, the app has a map of them (I'm sure the website does too) but I think, based on the map, it's in that little triangle park near Franklin and Calyer/Meserole. =D Have fun!

Erica, what is your usual route for this run? Do you have any interest in doing this? There's an Egg on Franklin Street I'd like to see/collect (I have the app, like a dork!) Let me know: http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=6273370

I was going to do this Thursday or Friday anyway, but I think I can make this run this week for once, so I figured I'd ask!

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
