Central Park to Sunnyside Run (after Run As One 4 miler)

Let's meet in Central Park for a run to Sunnyside, following the NYRR Run As One 4 mile race. You don't need to run the race to participate (but you can!). NOTE (updated Apr. 23rd): The Run As One 4 miler is officially sold out - but you can still join our run from Central Park to Sunnyside!

Please join us at Bethesda Fountain at 9:30am. Our casual pace run will take us approximately 4 miles across the Queensboro Bridge. We will finish our run at the Starbucks on Queens Blvd and 46th Street, by the 7 train. If you wish to meet in Queens for the ride to Central Park, please note this in the event comments.

We will aim to run at a 9:30-10:30 min/mile pace. If you are able to run close to this range, you are more than welcome to join us. Please be sure that you can comfortably run your chosen distance at this pace without stopping. This is for your safety and to allow others in the group to meet their training objectives. You may wish to bring water/fluids/etc., if you feel you'll need them along the way.

    Hi All -
If you are *not* planning to participate in the Run As One race on Sunday, and would like to meet in Queens for the ride to Central Park for our run, here are two options for you:
    (1) 61st St./Woodside - Meet just inside the turnstiles at 8:50am. The MTA's web site says that there should be a 7 train at 8:54am - we'll take that one to Queensboro Plaza (please be prompt). [We'll aim to be in the first car, if you catch that train as it heads through Sunnyside.]
    (2) Queensboro Plaza - Meet on the Manhattan-bound N platform by the front/first car, at 9:00a. The MTA's web site says that there should be an N train at 9:06am (please be prompt). If you prefer to meet by Bethesda Fountain, we'll see you by 9:30am! If you have questions or need any guidance, please feel free to message me directly.

Update: If you had been considering also signing up for the NYRR Run As One race - I'm sorry to say that it's sold out. But, our run is on, as-planned! We'll see you at Bethesda Fountain at 9:30am on Sunday. If you would like to meet in Queens to travel together to Central Park, please let me know - we can set up a meeting spot that's convenient.

Hi Ciara! Sounds good. I'll post a separate comment with some times and locations.

People running the race: if you could let me know what time you'll be finishing by posting it as a "reply" to this post, that would be great. That way, we can run home as soon as everyone is done. Thanks! I'm shooting for 38 minutes, so I should be at the fountain by 9:15, depending on how crowded the race is, etc.

I really want to join you guys for one of these runs to see if I can keep up nonstop. Unfortunately Ill be doing the NJ Long Branch half as part of the NY/NJ challenge.

Great! We'll be here when you are ready to join one of our runs. We're really pretty casual - I'm sure you'd be fine.

Rosy, if you come to Sunday morning long runs, there will be someone there to make sure you don't get left behind. We also stop sometimes for picture-taking, water or bathroom breaks, etc. Street lights are a good excuse as well. =D Good luck at the race and hopefully we'll see you one of these days!

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
