Ross will be talking about the fundamentals of design, so you can pick a better WordPress theme.

Speaker: Ross Johnson

Ross Johnson has been designing websites professionally for over fifteen years. He brings a unique and comprehensive view to design, shaped by a lifelong love for fine arts and his education in technology, business and social science. This diverse background brings insight to all aspects of design including practicality, business implications and psychology of how people interact with computers.

For the past seven years Johnson has run a global design firm called 3.7 DESIGNS. The firm has serviced companies across the globe including General Motors, Sandals, Brine, and The Detroit Zoo. He currently teaches at Michigan State University and Washtenaw Community College. Johnson’s expertise extends into the WordPress arena having picked up the platform in 2006. Johnson is a co-organizer of WordPress Ann Arbor, WordCamp Detroit and has authored several WordPress plugins and countless themes.

Workshop Expectations: Helping Us, Help You!

We’ll have WordPress Experts and Advanced users available to answer questions and help you solve problems.

Attendees must have a hosted or self hosted WordPress website already setup and have a good understanding of how to add/edit a blog post or page or install your on plugins. You can view some video tutorials on WP LifeGuard.

If you have never used WordPress before, this is probably not the right workshop for you. You are more than welcome to attend and listen to conversations, we can help point you in the right direction – we only have 2 hrs and lots of people to help. We’ll try organize a beginner session in March or April.
