Scott, i have also asked Will to possibly pass over any materials from their last months meetup in the city and me present it our next meet ups, this way for example if they talk about migrations i can put that as the topic of discussion and people might be more inclined to visit if they know what it will be about.
I noticed that we get a wide variety of different audiences from the real real newbies to people that are proficient and i think this makes it difficult to please everyone.
Possibly at the next one i will change it to an afternoon but let see what will comes back with first hopefully in the next day or two.

I think it would be a great idea to do this. Even if it's a few weeks after the city ones. We could be like the "TimeShifted" Meetup.

I think it's not that big a deal that our style of Meetup is different from the city ones. But maybe we should make it more well known that the Parra meetup is less structures, but well geared towards beginners and networking.
Hey Everyone, just a note on topics: if you want the meetup to address a certain topic, post the suggestion here and get us talking about it. I know Mitch is listed as the organiser, but it's kind of up to all of us to provide input into what to discuss (and figure out which one of us is the expert in that field).
This group is a real, grassroots, from-the-ground-up kind of thing, which is what I love about it.
So don't be afraid to suggest a topic, ask a question, or bring a list of questions to a meetup. It's a good mix of all skill levels in the Parramatta group, there's a good chance someone else has the puzzle piece you're missing.
What is the topic tomorrow ?

I have a topic, for my own selfish reasons of course. I'd like to get some industry consultation (ie everyone's input) on some of my assignments. TAFE is supposed to consult with industry to ensure what we teach is reflective of industry, which is pretty much what I'm doing when I come to the meet ups; tomorrow I wouldn't mind if I could share a few of my projects that I give my students and get everyone's input more formally.
Hi Guys, ill be coming to this one, just wanted to confirm who will be turning up... lets get this back on track start of the year was too hectic. Let me know any questions you have that you would like to discuss.

Sorry I have to pull out next week. Work stuff. I'll join you guys next time.
I've missed a few in a row but I will be there Monday. I'd like to know if anyone knows about running a multisite on a local server but with a port other than 80, just on the off chance anyone has.
Hi Scotty, ill be there also... too bad i still have not tried multi site setup :|

Hi Scott, I have setup multisite in local server but not sure about any port other than 80. I think the possibility is less. Please have a look on the following article: http://codex.wordpres... . Cheers.
Running a multisite isn't a problem. It's pretty easy to set up. Running a local server on a port other than 80 (if for instance the Department of Education is blocking port 80) isn't a problem. It is also pretty easy to set up.
It's both of these problems at the same time that has me irritated.
I don't think there's an easy solution either. Was just curious if anyone else has faced this.
Hi Peter, Usually there is always a table available so if your the first just get there and choose a table with a few seats, otherwise just ask around some people sitting see if its the wordpress meetup :)
last time there was nobody there!
