So you have your WordPress website up and running!

Now what? Get the most out of your WordPress site in terms of plugins, driving traffic and strategy ideas in terms of getting your site up and out there to the rest of the world.

We look at a good site setup that will allow for great SEO traffic, plugins to use etc.

We also have special guests from NineFold on the night that will be coming in to show us how their cloud servers work and just how quickly you can spin up a cloud environment and start hosting your WordPress websites. I hope we get to see how easy it is so scale up the environments as well in terms of handling large amounts of traffic!

This is also the last meetup for the year so we'll end a little early and head over to the pub after too!

Can anyone attending any of the wordpress meetups recomend a meet up or even a member with knowledge of crawl errors and script codes that eliminate googlebot crawling my wp site. google has stopped crawling my sight. Does anyone recognise this code as a block for googlebot

Does anyne know if OSE firewall is any good or is it known to block google?
Can anyone help ...make a suggestion?

  Yes that first line
  <meta name="robots" content="noindex,nofollow" />
  indicates to Google that you do not want to get indexed.
  Remove it if you feel confident to do so.

  your ROBOTS.TXT file may also be used to block Google as well. We had a member a few months ago that had it set to block all and Google never indexed the website.

  OSE Firewall is good and had just gotten a facelift with the new version.
  
  Also good is WordFence, although it's a bit heavy on the MySQL queries.

  None of the firewalls above will block search engines with their default setup. You would have to explicitly set up the firewall rules to do that.

  No, just delete the line <meta name= ... />
  
  The default search engine behaviour is to index your site anyway.

  The one I mentioned is Simple 301 Redirects (only does URLs to other URLs, not 404 detection) http://wordpress.org/...
  
  Redirection is the one that Wil mentioned http://wordpress.org/... Looks similar to the one Jon mentioned.
